The main difference between rich people and poor people is not what you may think. There are many people that think there is nothing different. However, when you start to explore this topic on a deeper level, you are going to see that there are huge chasms between what successful, rich people think and act like, versus what poor people think and act like. You may not want to believe it, but there are a few defining lines that you’ll want to look at before you make the final call on this. In fact, consider some of the following elements moving forward, and you will definitely see why what you think, can dictate how much you earn.
Poor people choose to get paid based on time
One of the major caveats of poor people is in regards how they are paid. The poor often look at wages in terms of hourly components. Time is not a good indicator of how much you should get paid, or your value. The rich see time as outside of the framework of money. You could earn millions, and spend a great deal of time setting up your business, but the end result is millions. The poor will think of 40 hour work weeks and that’s it. 9 to 5, and then go home. That’s not a good mentality, and when you are isolated in that arena, you will end up losing.
Rich people admire successful people and build circles of them
The rich don’t just admire successful people, they associate themselves with others in that arena. They focus on building and networking friends with positivity in mind. They do not stay amidst those that are negative, or are poor in spirit and in pocket book. It’s important not to get this message wrong. There’s nothing wrong with those that are poor, but if you hang out with those that have a defeatist outlook, it will cling to you. Soon, you will start to assume the same that you can’t really succeed because there’s an obstacle at every turn. Positivity matters, especially in whom you choose to spend a great deal of time with.
Rich people focus on opportunities
The most successful people in the world do not look at obstacles, or issues that abound in different arenas. Instead, they look at the opportunities that they have, and make the most out of them. Everyone loves to hear the story of the guy that started at the bottom, in the mail room. Over time that mail room clerk becomes the CEO of a large company. How did they do it? Well, they looked at the opportunities that they had, and treated them appropriately. They didn’t stay in the mail room long, they focused on not only doing their job, but doing it to the absolute best of their abilities and networked.
Poor people focus on Obstacles
As stated above, poor people have a knack at looking at the difficulty ahead. If you look at the stumbling blocks, if you’re concerned with the difficulty of becoming rich, then you will never be rich. You have to approach climbing Everest with the notion that you can do it, and nothing is going to stop you. If you have a defeatist attitude, you could end up failing before you even start. No major champion in any industry will tell you that you should focus on your obstacles. Set your eyes on the prize, and make a plan of action to get there. Focusing on the hardships, and rough spots will leave you far behind where you really want to be.
Rich People Think Bigger Than Problems
Successful people get into some very dangerous situations. Sometimes they risk everything, and manage to stay alive in the process. This is not just physical, this is financial. The reason why many rich people are successful, even after major failures, is because they don’t think about the problems. They think bigger. Think about moguls that have gone bankrupt, and lost a lot, yet they are still rich. Why? Because when there’s millions lost, there’s another set of millions down the line waiting. If you become bigger than the problem, a loss is not really a loss, it’s a lesson learned to move forward. Moving forward gets you further than staying still and dwelling on the problems.
Poor people are smaller than the problem
The continually poor think about the problems at hand. They do not focus on solutions. They just see the crushing weight of the world on their backs. They dwell on this night and day, and while they may have 40 hour a week jobs, and health benefits, that’s all they see. They never truly see the greater, the attainable past the initial job concept. There’s nothing wrong with loving a job, but if you’re not owning your own business or have passive income, you can be let go at any moment. When you are smaller than the problem, you become it, and will lose income faster than you would like.
Rich People are excellent learners
This may seem odd, but think about it for a moment. In business, you have to learn through doing. Action is a great educator, and mistakes will be made. Rich people aren’t afraid of the mistakes, they simply jump. Jumping when others are too scared to do so, usually does one of two things. It either pays off huge, making you rich, or it fails and you learn a valuable lesson. You can’t teach experience. However, if you take time to look into how rich people have taken mistakes and turned them into lessons, you will see a huge influence. The rich know how to learn from others mistakes, as well as their own. They calculate and brace themselves for them, but do not let those things limit their future.
Poor people never learn from mistakes
There are marginal victories that poor people have, don’t get this wrong. However, when it comes to financial errors, mistakes and more, you’ll find that this is lacking. Just look at how many are trapped under the weight of credit card debt. Consumer debt is at an all-time high and people are struggling to just make the minimum payments. These mistakes aren’t simple to progress through. Poor people focus on the mistakes they have made, and continue to make them, even when others don’t. The rich take on these areas of learning, and change their methodology. Once trapped in a cycle of poverty, these mistakes are easy to end up making, and they never really end.
Being poor is not a final area of living. There are many stories of the richest people in the world, starting from nothing. If you are poor right now, you can change things. However, you have to look at the aforementioned and see where you can build and what you need to do to enhance your life. If not, you will be stuck in a cycle of losses, and hard lessons, without making sense or cents.
