It is true that we live in a strange world where the poor walk miles to get food and the rich walk miles to digest food. As years pass by, the gap between the rich and the poor is getting wide. The world’s poverty is getting worse and rampant. Is it really the money that makes this world go round? How is being rich or being poor measured?
It’s not actually money that makes a person rich or poor, it’s the knowledge he possessed. A person’s mind can make him rich or poor, depending on the way he uses it. Mindset is very important in reaching one’s goal. You have to believe that you can do something in order to achieve it. That is the difference between the poor and the rich people. They have the same goal but have different mindsets because of the fact that they were raised in different kinds of environment and surrounded by different types of people. How does really a mindset of a rich differs from that of the poor?
What can you give to someone who has everything? This is the common dilemma of rich people’s friends. They fear that whatever they’re going to give might not be appreciated. When you are rich, you tend to be pampered and spoiled because your family has everything. This may not be true to all rich people, but most of them really have this tendency which is actually normal.
Any rich parents would surely do the same because that’s exactly the reason why they are rich. They worked hard for their family because they wanted to give them the best they could ever give; from basic needs to luxurious wants like gadgets. Having these kinds of parents is undoubtedly a blessing. They just need to know the limitation because this could affect a child’s mindset.
It’s not always good to give everything to your family when it comes to their wants. You can give everything they need in order to survive life but you have to limit their wants. Give them time to appreciate what they have. They need to have something to aim for or look forward to because if they already have everything, they wouldn’t strive to get something anymore. Spoon-feeding could affect ones’s mindset and decisions.
The key to success is hard-work and determination. One must have the will and desire to reach his goals. If you already have everything, what would drive you to do better? For example you want your child to do better in school. You promised to give him something he wants. Is that really enough to encourage him? No, it isn’t enough. Yes, it would kind of push him to put a little more effort in school but not enough for him to do best. He wouldn’t be challenged because it’s just normal for him to get what he wants. This is usually the disadvantage of being rich, people tend work less because there’s nothing left to aim for. If you’re already on top, you have nothing to achieve anymore. Another reason is dependence. It’s when you know that even if you wouldn’t work hard for it, you’d still undoubtedly get it because of fame and connections. This is true to rich people especially in the corporate world nowadays. Hard-work was never an issue because your family name alone can be your golden ticket to a higher position.
Being in a poor or middle class family is not always a curse as what people would always think. In this case, you don’t have everything and sometimes, you even have nothing. Yes, it’s not easy to be born this way but it is actually a challenge. You need to set aside your wants because you have to work hard for your basic needs first. And those wants become your goal or dream. They would drive you to do better and to work harder. It’s always good to have a room for improvement and being poor gives you a bigger space.
Your mindset is to have everything you want in the future; success, fame, financial stability and other things that you never experienced. These things are big enough for you to strive harder and do better in life. You have this dream to look forward to everyday in your life. If a person really wants something, he will find a way. If he doesn’t, he’ll find an excuse.
It is true that you create your own opportunities. Success doesn’t just come and find you. You need to find and get it especially if you are poor. You have to work hard and experience a lot of discriminations and humiliations in order to achieve your goal and that’s the reason why poor people are consistent in their actions.
The more they experience these negative actions from other people, the more they become determined. For example, there’s a college student studying in one of the prestigious schools in the country. He is actually poor but because of his determination, he became a university scholar. Now, try to compare him to other students in the university. You would see that he’s actually doing an extra effort to maintain his scholarship. Other students who can afford to study in that school probably think that it is just normal to study there, nothing’s special. But for that scholar, it’s everything for him. Graduating in one of the most prestigious school in the country in order to get a stable job in the future is his main goal and that what keeps him going.
People have different goals in life. They vary in sizes, content and qualities. What’s easy for you might be hard for others and what’s hard for you might be easy for them. This is the difference between the poor’s mindset and the rich’s mindset. It is really true that many people miss their goals because the goal itself was not that challenging to make them work harder.
In order to succeed, your desire for success must be big enough to move you into consistent action and through inevitable challenges. Don’t let your status in life affect your mindset in a negative way. Learn to appreciate everything you have because you don’t know what other people have to go through just to get half of what you already have.
